Donations Are Most Welcome!!!
Donations
are what keep the Round Barn running and improving to serve you
better and we'd like to offer our sincerest thanks to all of those
over the years who have given so generously of their time and
money. Every penny that we receive goes straight back into the
maintenance, upkeep, preservation and improvement of the Round
Barn and its property. It does take a good deal of money to do
this however, and we constantly need the support of volunteers,
companies, organizations and individuals alike to keep things
going. Periodically, we host fundraisers and special events with
the specific purpose of generating donations, but we do appreciate
year-round monetary support as well.
Over
the past two years, the Round Barn has received some very generous
donations which have allowed us to complete some much needed safety
features. For instance, we were able to replace the old wooden
staircases with two new custom-built steel ones. These were specially
built for the Barn to be sturdier and safer than the wooden ones
we had, which were a tad treacherous in inclement weather. We
have an alarm installed and a new fire alarm system as well, which
was desperately needed. Color brochures and full color historical
books to offer tourists were printed and we were able to obtain
a large sign before the exit on I-35 that directs travelers down
Route 66 to see the Round Barn.
We
also received a grant from the state which enabled us to purchase
new cement picnic tables that were needed to replace the dilapidated
wooden ones that we had. This will enable visitors of the Round
Barn to sit and have lunch and just relax and enjoy their time
at the Round Barn for years to come.
If
you aren't able to help out monetarily, donations of your time,
labor, skill, etc. are appreciated as well. There are a few ways
to donate: Our donations box on site at the Round Barn, by mail
using our P.O. Box, by purchasing a commemorative brick, or you
may click online and send an e-mail of your donation request below.
Donations are logged and records kept for each and every donation
we receive and we will send you a receipt of your donation for
your tax records. Remember! Donating to a nonprofit organization
such as the Arcadia Historical Society is tax deductible!!!
